Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She appears regularly in CNN's "New Day weekend' and HLN's 'Weekend Express', as as CNN International programs. Prior to making the move to CNN, in June of 2015, she was employed by various local radio stations, among them those located in Atlanta and Nashville. She has covered every aspect of hurricanes, blizzards storms, flooding, and wildfires, receiving the Emmy nomination in recognition of her coverage of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in 2019. She also has covered the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, where more than 350 tornadoes hit across the Southeastern United States in just four days. More than 200 on the 27th in a single day. She's covered climate change, but also volcanoes and earthquakes thanks to her environmental science background. Chinchar has a bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, which she earned from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a part of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
