Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also an accomplished public speaking. Feminist Frequency provides videos, commentary and analyses of the way in which popular culture portrays women. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and American feminist media critique. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit educational site that explores female representations in popular culture narratives - is created and directed by Sarkeesian. She is committed to deconstructing stereotypes of women as they appear in popular media. Furthermore she aims to create the awareness of harassment on social media targeted towards women as well as the marginalized communities of people. Sarkeesian has a degree in the fields of social thought and political science from York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public speaker. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. She was fascinated by the gender issue and feminist movements since a young time. When she graduated in 2009, continuing to study at the university level she launched her Feminist Frequency website. This ambitious woman planned to start an internet-based series on the role of gender in games however, she was also the subject of an online campaign to harass her. But the assault did not deter her instead it was a boost to her determination as a feminist media critic. Her numerous contributions to the feminist field are recognized with numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning journalist. She was also the founder and director of Feminist Frequency an educational and non-profit organization that explores pop culture gender representations.
