Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and moved to England at the age of 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she graduated. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered critiques of the politics. She was able to get numerous prominent contributors to post their views on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties of that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant and journalist. Though she was close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her life. In her early years, she displayed the leadership abilities that she is still known for. When she was 16 years old her family moved in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
